What's New?

On July 1, 2006, AHCCCS and DES will put into place a new rule for AHCCCS members and applicants.

The new rule says AHCCCS members and applicants must prove their United States (US) citizenship and personal identity, by providing specific documents as proof of U.S. citizenship and identity when renewing or applying for AHCCCS health coverage benefits, including Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) and the KidsCare program.

Health Choice Generations Additional Benefits

Beginning January 1, 2010, Health Choice Generations is adding several enhanced benefits for 2010. These benefits are called Mandatory Supplemental Benefits. (Mandatory Supplemental Benefits are health care services not covered by Medicare that a Medicare Advantage Plan enrollee must accept or purchase as part of the MA plan). These new benefits include:

  • Up to two (2) oral exam(s) every year.
  • Up to two (2) cleaning(s) every year.
  • Up to one (1) dental x-ray(s) every year.
Hearing Services (through network providers):
  • Up to one (1) hearing aid(s) every year through a network provider. ($1500 limit for routine hearing aids every year).
Vision Services (through network providers):
  • $0 co-pay for up to one (1) routine eye exam every year.
  • $0 co-pay for up to one (1) pair(s) of glasses every year. ($100 limit for eye wear every year).
Over the Counter Medications:
Health Club Memberships/Fitness Classes:
  • SilverSneakers fitness program.
